1.     Religious Formation Programs

Blessed sacrament holds Religious Formation Classes for children, teens and adults on a weekly basis throughout the school year.

Religious Formation:  Blessed Sacrament offers a Religious Formation Program, with the goal of presenting the gift of faith and the beliefs of the Catholic Church to the children and young people of our parish.  We offer Sacramental preparation for First Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation, and we strive to make the reception of these sacraments meaningful, in order to strengthen the faith and beliefs of our parish community.  Preschool - 8th grade meets Wednesday evening.

Godparent Programs:  The high school Religious Formation Program called the "Godparent Youth Group" aims to help our youth learn how to apply Christian principles and incorporate Jesus' teachings into their daily lives.  Our classes meet at the Church, and these sponsors stay with their group throughout their high school years.  Social time activities are an important part of the high school program, and time is set aside for this aspect.  These groups meet on Wednesday evening.  Central Catholic students are encouraged and invited to attend.  In addition to the theology they receive, this program integrates their knowledge into a community setting.

2.     O.C.I.A.

If you are considering becoming a member of the Catholic Church or know of someone who is, the O.C.I.A. program is the process by which a person becomes a Catholic.  It is a step-by-step journey into the life of the Church, which includes education, experience, prayer, liturgical celebration, etc.  Normally, it begins in the Fall and peaks with initiation at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.  Anyone "inquiring" about the Catholic Church is welcome to come to the O.C.I.A. program.

5.     Children's Liturgy of the Word

In order for elementary age children to more fully understand the Liturgy of the Word, children are invited out during the readings and the homily to hear the Word of God explained in their own language. All children who wish to participate are invited to join the group at the 10:00 a.m. Mass on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.
