Children receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist in the spring of their second grade year.  Preparation for Frist Communion begins in September when children are welcomed and blessed at a special mass the Sunday after Easter.  Each child along with his or her parents, then attends a series of meetings to prepare as a family for this important Sacrament.

These older teens (9th-11th) meet weekly with their “Godparents” in their designated classrooms.  Each class in “practical Christian living” begins with a prayer service. Sponsors use videos, speakers and other materials to present and discuss the topic for the evening.

The last ten minutes of each class time are set aside for students to write to their sponsors in a journal.  The journaling continues all year as a dialogue between student and godparents.  Social activities and service projects are also an important part of the Godparent Program. We meet Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.
